Perched on an 80-meter-high cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Villa Mimouna is a boutique hotel in Safi — a Moroccan coastal city often overlooked by tourists. In a region known more as a waypoint than a destination, the project aims to carve out a discreet oasis, offering a new kind of hospitality experience that reframes Safi as a place worth lingering.
Tellure atelier worked with the topography to establish a secluded yet open environment. New wings with ocean-facing rooms, lush gardens, a rooftop terrace, pool, and wellness spa create a sense of retreat, while the inclusion of a conference space responds to a local lack of infrastructure.
Through terracing, landscaping, and the use of local stone, Villa Mimouna builds around what already exists — the raw landscape, the Atlantic horizon, the calm — to turn a forgotten edge into a serene destination.
