At Tellure atelier, exploring the potential of rammed earth goes beyond reviving ancestral techniques. It is about redefining them for contemporary architecture and modern lifestyles. Rammed earth is a construction method where layers of raw earth are compacted into formwork, creating structural walls with stratified textures and a raw, tactile aesthetic. During a training with Amaco at the Grands Ateliers in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, our team deepened its expertise in rammed earth construction, a material as old as the world and yet fully relevant today. Rammed earth delivers exceptional indoor comfort, naturally regulating temperature and humidity, while offering a strong sense of connection to place. In Morocco, this technique is still often seen as outdated and associated with poor, rural architecture. Tellure atelier seeks to shift this perception by revealing its beauty and its contemporary potential, already widely explored in Europe. The goal is to bring this renewed vision of rammed earth to Morocco, while moving away from the short-lived buildings that dominate today, in favor of construction solutions that are compelling, durable, and rooted in their context.
